The History of SPLAT (Secret Parrotlet Liaisons and Tactics) By Colonel Doodlebug, Chief of SPLAT
Do the Commando Birdies have Special Ops forces? You bet! In August of 2004, the Commando Birdies SPLAT Teams were formed by a fierce and dedicated bunch of commandoes. Unafraid of hoomans and fairly convinced of their stupidity, the Commando Birdies chose their Land, Sea and Air Team leaders from those birdies who most skillfully answered the following tactical questions.
Problem #1: Seattle's Space Needle obviously didn't turn out to do what it was supposed to. Clueless hoomans turned it into a restaurant!
Question: What can WE do with it?
Problem #2: The Bermuda Triangle. Though hoomans have been swallowed up for years, it'll take eons to take over the hooman population at the rate of one ship or plane at a time. Question: How can we take better advantage of this strange phenomenon?
Problem #3. The Great Pyramids of Egypt. Who or what REALLY put them there and why? Is there something in there we should know about?
Problem #4. Volcanoes. The earth with a bellyache or tactical weapons?
Problem #5. Given the geography and/or architecture of your OWN STATE or PROVINCE for our Canadian brothers and sisters), please devise some plan of attack on that state or province - utilizing that geography and/or architecture to our benefit.
Problem #6. Given the raw materials on hand in your own castles, please devise a remarkable new weapon for our Commando arsenal.
Amazingly enough, there were several TIES which resulted in a SPLAT-OFF and were broken by the following two questions:
SPLAT OFF:
SPLAT-OFF Question #1: History relates the relationship between hoomans and many different birds. We know the miners dragged the poor canaries into the mines, pigeons have been used to carry messages and macaws have perched on the shoulders of pirates. What role or roles have parrotlets played in history?
(Other than Borris!)
SPLAT-OFF Question #2: As the hooman world is today, each country has its own capitol. When parrotlets take over the world, where will our capitol or capitols be and why?
At the end of the SPLAT Trials, the following courageous (and extremely inventive) team leaders were chosen:
Doodlebug: Organizer and Chief of SPLAT
(by Prezidential appointment)
Brockley: Sea Team Leader
Pepi: Land Team Leader
Maggie May: Air Team Leader
The respective SPLAT Teams are now made up of the following members:
